There are many hotels and Bed & Breakfast sites nearby in case you wish to visit the Eye area.

Heres a few that we know and trust, each can be clicked to view more information.

Oak Lodge Retreat

Located within the original Eye Airfield boundary. A 'Glamping' and holiday park with quiet surroundings and a stones throw from the runway.

Beards B&B

A Bed & Breakfast located in Eye town. Walking distance from the old airfield and surrounded by historical architecture.

​

Eye is 5 miles from Diss train station (trains to/from Norwich & London Liverpool St. stations).

There are regular buses that run through Eye except Sundays, to/from Ipswich, Diss, and Norwich.

By Road from the south.

Head northbound on the A14 past Ipswich then Join onto the A140 towards Diss/Norwich then after a while, before Diss you'll see a right turn towards Eye. Once in Eye, Head through the town like you are wanting to re-join the A140 and eventually, before an industrial area you'll see the memorial on your left.

By road from the north.

Head southbound towards Ipswich & London on the A140 from Norwich. Eye is 20 miles give or take from Norwich. Head through Long Stratton and after a few more miles on this road (A140) you'll hit the first and second Diss roundabout. Go straight over both and stay on the A140. Five minutes after you'll see a 'Gulf' petrol station (aka the Devil's Handbasin. Turn left at this petrol station towards Eye. Continue straight and the memorial and airfield will be on the right side of the road where the industrial buildings stop.

By train

Use the circle line in London to go to London Liverpool Street. Take the Norwich train and depart the train in Diss. Eye is then travel-able by bus from Diss bus station on service number(s) 112, 113, and 114 which run typically every hour. The bus drivers are very helpful.
